Virtual Friends: MOBILE PHONES

The other day I saw four teens chatting together. They were seated at a table in a crowded Cafe and were deep in conversation. From the expressions on their faces and Intensity of their tones, one could tell that they were talking about something serious, something they felt deeply about.
Was it Corruption in public life? Was it crimes against women? Was it about the 2014 elections? Whatever it was, there was something curious about their conversation. And the curious thing was that though the four of them were sitting together at the same table, they were conversing not with each other but to their phones, or sending text messages, or generally fiddling with their mobile phones playing games.
If people want to talk not to the people they are with, but to talk on their phones to people who aren't there, why are the with the 1st lot of people? Now a days taking to or texting to someone in your cellphone is no fun unless there are at least three or four people around you to witness the act. This is the reason why Parties are becoming so popular these days. What is a Party? A Party is a place where people get together to talk not to each other but to talk on their phones to people who are not present in the party and thereby let all the people who are present know what a VIP(Very Important Phoner) you are.
The day I guess is not far when you suddenly realize that, you can't think of one single person in the whole world whom at this particular moment you have a need or desire to phone or text for any reason....

Missing you...

Hours pass by...
Days pass by...
Years pass by...
...But emotions of some very special people never get away from you.
It has been more than a year now, and all of a sudden, my mind forced me to remember her. I felt restless. Felt like choking. I tried to recollect those memories. I searched every folder in my laptop, searched every baggage that I had, but couldn't find anything. The air was poisoned and my lungs started to feel the pain as I inhaled those unhealthy air. All the time I tried to console myself that I can recollect her memories present in my mind and heart. I freed myself in my soft bed, which all of a sudden felt like hell. I started thinking the first time I met her.
Her voice echoed in my ears, as if she was standing right beside me. Trust me, those were the sooth-est voice I've ever heard. Suddenly, my heart urged me to call her and hear her voice, but I had no contact since long...
I started hitting my head against a wall for deleting her number and all her text messages from my phone.
Just a few moments ago, it was a chill Sunday morning, but now.... I felt as if someone has buried me deep into the soil till my neck. I could see and feel the pain, but could do nothing.

All of a sudden, I remembered that I took a snapshot of a piece of paper on my mobile phone, which contained her name and number. Yes.... The memories of that great day is still very very clear. I opened the paper and took a pic just as usual before going to meet her for the first time. I never knew that this snapshot will make me so happy someday.

Wasting no time, I picked my phone and started searching each photo in it. And finally I got it... My hands shivered as dialed her number. I could hear the buzz through my phone. But she didn't pick my call.  I tried twice, but in vain.

I was again in the same terrifying state of mind. Tried to console my heart, which was way out of control. I tried to sleep, but couldn't.

Its been 9 hours since morning. I'm still at my bed...
Emotionless...
Speechless...

I'm sharing this with all of you hoping that someday she might read this blog, and call me.
I promise you dear, I wont disturb you. Will silently listen to your soothing voice once more :(

A Very Unusual Nightmare!!!

I was in deep dreams. All of a sudden something loud woke me up. I rubbed my eyes and picked my mobile placed beside my pillow to check the time. It was about 6 in the morning. Looking at the window I noticed a bit of sun rays entering the room. Being sleepy, I thought of resting a bit more. In a fraction of second I was shattered with a huge sound just like a bomb blasting at my building.  In sheer tension I woke up to take guard of what happened. And again!!! There was a huge sound that literally vibrated the 9-stored building.  It was a fierce lightning followed by huge thunder. I was horrified. Taking some courage I went to the window to see what’s going on.
What I saw was beyond my exception. The sun was out. It was a bright day, but still it was raining heavily.  And then came another loud thrilling sound!!!  The loudest of the three… I ran to the other room to see what my roomy was doing. He was sitting in his bed totally confused, no knowing what to do. The first word that came from his mouth was, “I never heard of such huge thunders before”. I replied, ”Same here bro.”
There was yet another thunder, and this time it felt as if it hit my building. The vibration was more, and the sound even more. I went to the window and saw the air, filled with smoke… I was frightened.
I became restless when I found that the thunder hit a similar building just beside ours.  Inspecting from the window I found that it had hit the lightning conductor in that building. I came back to bed, covered myself with my blanket, and started chanting some mantras. The lightning and thunders continued to explode. After about 20 minutes, the sounds slowly started to mute.
I caught sleep in the mean while, and it was again a sound that woke me, but this time it was the alarm clock that buzzed at 7:30. I went straight to the window to examine things.
To my disbelief, it was a bright day, with no clouds at all, and it just looked as if I had some nightmare… I woke my roomy up quickly to show him how the weather changed so drastically. He was surprised as well. It was one of the most Terrifying and Unusual days of my life!!!

There are goose-bumps all over my body at this moment. I still can’t believe what happened in the morning!!!

ANDROID vs. iOS

Android or iOS??? This is the most common question of any individual around the globe, who wants to buy a smart phone.
Well, having a look at the recent market share, Android bags the market with a tremendous 75% global market share, where iOS bags only 14.9%. However there is a good increase in the number of sales in the iOS Smartphone’s category.
The basic difference that any Android user finds over an iOS user is the user-friendliness.  On one hand we find many new up gradations, with new apps, whereas, the other one stands out for status.  iOS has been consistently targeting the ‘Multitasking’ feature to grab customer’s attention.  The most separating factor that determines the market share of both the OS is the number of updates and innovations that they have. An Android user is also very open to many new apps and non-“Google Play” apps, which lacks in the iOS Operating System.
It’s going to be a fun affair to see, how the much awaited iOS 7 gets reviewed by users. However, it’s a must needed game changing strategy from the manufacturer, who have tried hard to get some very sharp changes like equally competent interface, and  the new sense of multitasking(which lacked earlier). However, Android still has a strong hold over the Customizability, where the customers are free to do a lot of experience, which iOS adds limit to.

You may call it copying or setting up new strategies, but iOS can really have a edge over Android if they keep making such changes and innovations on a constant mode,  and may be who knows what we are going to witness in this war of mobile OS?

My DREAMS, on the way to REALITY...

"I was in the spotlight and the management of my company put forth a party, in completion of implementation of Quality Management System(QMS). The project was led by me. The Top level management(MD), invited me to narrate the success story and to put forth, the upcoming plans of the project. Just as I walked to the spotlight, my steps became heavy. I tried to re-collect the difficulties faced in completing the project before due date.

I was at the center stage. Spotlight was on me. The eyes of everyone sitting in the auditorium patiently waited to see the success story, and their ears eagerly waiting to listen what I speak. I didn't knew how to start and what to speak. I was completely numb.

I closed my eye and remembered the words of my trainer, conversing with the General Manager during the initial days of my training, "I see a lot of spark in Bireswar's eyes, but he is being under-utilized." I opened my eyes, took a long deep breath.
I started,"Good Evening!!! ......................................................................................................."

All of a sudden I heard a very high tone ringing in my ears.

ALAS!!!! It was just a dream. My hands automatically went to stop the alarm in my mobile phone.
Oh!!! I wondered. I have my auditing test today. I assured myself that the dream I saw was still far away (A popular phrase in Hindi to explain it : Delhi abhi door hai).
On its Context, my mind dragged me to a superstitious belief that a dream seen at early morning is more liable to be converted to reality.

I went to office like any usual day. It was the day when the QMS internal auditing body were to be declared. To get a name in the body requires a bit of homework to do.I remembered my efforts last night (I realized that even I didn't knew when I felt asleep during my preparations). With a lot of confidence I entered the training hall. The day processed with training and finally, it was result time.
I not only got a name into the auditors list, but was also chosen a Team leader.

Was it the early morning dream that put forth a way to what I saw in it? Or was it the result of my sincere efforts in order to learn something new? I'm still to find out the answer, but this incident really set  a way to get to the LIMELIGHT I dream't of.

Innocence of a Kid, On the eve of Janmashtami!!!

Devotees were rushing in to the Krishna temple, on the eve of Janmashtami  to have a glimpse of the cute new born Lord Krishna. I was about to enter the temple and was seriously confused about where to keep my shoes. The entrance was full. People of all ages have come to see the lord.
In between all this, I heard a very cute voice, "Mamma, jaldi aao, mujhe dekhna hai ki Krishna ji jyada cute hai ya main zyada cute hun... Jaldi aao mummy" She was a very cute and jolly little 6 years old girl, who came with her mother to have a glimpse of Lord Krishna.
I went to her and asked,"Aapko kaise pata k Krishna ji cute hai?"
She Said,"Mummy boli thi ki aaj Krishnaji bacche bane hai, aur bacche toh cute hote hai naa!!!"
The cuteness in her words drew me to harmony & I was really happy  to hear her innocent words. Her mom visualizing the huge crowd told her, " Beta, abhi bahut bheed hai, chaliye ghar chalte hai, hum baad main aayenge"  The cute one dragged her mom inside the temple telling her, "Nahin mummy, hame abhi dekhna hai" .
We somehow made way to reach the holy place where Lord Krishna's Idol had been kept in a beautifully decorated bed. The girl rushed nearer as quickly as possible and called for her mom,"Mamma, aap sahi bol rahi thi, Krishna ji sach main bahut Cute hai. Hum unko ghar le sakte hai kya???" To this question, her mom even had no answer. She however told her that, "Beta, yeh toh krishnaji ki Murti hai, sacchi wale Krishna ji aaynge toh hum unko ghar le jaynge"
Few seconds later,  A boy fancied like Krishna entered, who was a part of the fancy dress compitition scheduled to held later that evening.

The girl exclaimed in excitement,"mamma dekho Krishna Ji aa gaye, chalo unko leke ghar chalte hai!!!"

The Uniqueness of I.E.M.(Indian Ethos of Management)

A child grows by learning from others, not by imitating them... and so does a nation! The growth of a nation lies in the sense of Identity. Every nation has its own management ethics, based on its unique cultural ethos. This is called its 'Management Identity'
The British make loyalty their management mantra. Performance means the most to the Americans. Japanese management theories are based on Buddhism and Confucianism, while Europeans management techniques run on Protestant beliefs. What is India's 'Management Identity'?
In the ancient world, India stood foremost in Industry & Business. In 1001, 33% of the world trade was India's share. Are we, their descendants making any significant contribution to the global management system?Or are we just quoting Abraham Maslow, Herzberg, Peter Drucker, etc?

What about opening our eyes to India's Management excellence?

The central idea in Indian Approach to Management is to empower 'Man'. Machines, materials and Money will be taken care of when man is taken care of.
When we are asked what is Management, 99 out of 100 times we reply, "The art of getting things done by others". The I.E.M. says,"Management is helping ordinary people to achieve extra-ordinary results". Productivity of men's capacity is more important than plant capacity.

The foundation pillars of Indian Ethos of Management

1. Unleashing Infinite Potential: Tat Tvam Asi(Meaning: you're that supreme). We are born with a super-computer(our brain), a stereosystem(the ears), audiovisual unit and the best camera(the eyes). Mahatma Gandhi, Amitabh Bachhan, etc discovered their potential, translated their potential to performance and performed to their potential.
2. Why Work? Atmano Mokshaya Jagat Hitaaya Ca( For my personal growth, for the welfare of the world) i.e. Synchronize your private benefits with public benefits.
3. What is Work? (i)Yagnayacharatah karma(work is to be done with the spirit of yagna i.e. Teamwork, Selflessness) (ii) Parasparam bhavayantah: Nurture each other(Win-Win approach)
4. How to Work? Seva+ Tyag (Serve others. Give your best for the good of others
5. Spirit of Work: Yogah Karmasu Kaushalam(Dexterity & Excellence in action is Yoga.

What should be the mind-set of a manager according to IEM?

Difference between modern concepts and IEM concepts
Modern Concepts                                                        IEM Concepts
1. Produce Results                                                          Produce Performers
2. Manage others                                                            Manage yourself
3. I-centered                                                                   We- centered
4. Organize men, material, money & machines                 Mobilise men and sound out other
                                                                                       readines
5. Motivate, praise, punish, push people                          Inspire, empower, draw people
6. Instruct, issue notices, order, demand for                     Make queries, sound out ideas,
    compliance of projects                                                 encourage suggestions

Producing result is not the manager's job. Workers are to produce results. Manager's job is to produce performers.

Awakening INDIANS to INDIA....

Awakening INDIANS to INDIA....

"I really am feeling devastated being at India. If I could have been at US of A, It would have been better because we follow their Inventions and Discoveries" said one of my friend a few days back.

His words cut through my mind's thought and I was forced to think what the world thinks of India.

A country which says," Satyameva Jayate (meaning: "Truth alone Triumphs"),  which showed the world a path, of which the world wants to be a part of. Still some of us believe that we shouldn't be a part of it?

My Mind recollected the lest few words of the great Albert Einstein
"We owe a lot to the Indian, who taught us how to count, without which no worthwhile scientific discovery could have been made"

Long before 2000 years, when the world was uncivilized, Indian craftsmen built "Rock cut culture" which still remains the best in the world.
Starting from Chaitanya Hall to Kailas temple at Ellora (Which still is the largest single piece sculpture of the world), the Dock of Lothal to Mysore palace, from Taj Mahal(The best among the 7 wonders of the world) to Agra  Fort, From Mahabalipuram to Sun Temple, and many more... They are just a breed apart.

Not just this,
  • We were the 1st to use Rockets (the Tipu Sultan Army used them, and the Britishers learnt about accurate rocket propulsion from them.
  • We launched the world's first 4-stroke Scooter Engine(Bajaj Auto Ltd.)
  • We are the largest professional standing army of  1.6 Million
  • We made the fastest full lenght feature film ever(14 heros; 12 heriones; 1 villian; cast crew & supporting artistes of 3,026; Crammed into 24-hour Schedule to make SWAYAMVARAM)
  • We made the world's 1st hospital on wheels(The Jeevan-Rekha(Lifeline) Express on June16, 1991)
  • We have the world's largest English Speaking graduates.
  • We are held first, when it comes to number of listed companies.
  • The ATM in banking system was an Indian development.
  • The art of Navigation was developed by us in the river Sindhu 6000 years ago.
  • IIM-A is the toughest Management School of the world to get into, ahead of Havard B. School and Columbia University.
  • India posses the largest Postal Network in the world with 154149 post offices.
  • We taught the world how to teach. The oldest University is Takshasila (1000 BC to 500AD)
  • We first found Diamonds
  • We hold the company which is the largest employer in the world (Indian Railways)

This is just a small Saga of the whole story  "INDIA"
Do we Still believe that we should be any where else?
      PROUD TO BE AN INDIAN....

The Drop-out Story

"I was a DROP-OUT during 3rd year of my graduation", says Mr. Sandeep Maheshwari, one of the most inspiring youth of India & the owner of ImagesBaazar, the world's biggest collection of Indian Images and Videos. He also holds the "Limca book of records" in Photography.

Same is the case with many successful people around the globe. to name a few most famous are Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg, Steve Jobs, Michael Dell, Ty Warner, Gautam Adani etc...

Does the secret of success lies in Dropping-Out?

The answer is a big YES!!!
Some of them say, "I failed Then, and that's why I'm successful Now"
Some others say," Its not like I was pushed out of school, rather I quit school to chase my dreams. That single stem made me live my dreams".

Now another question strikes our mind:
Should we need to be a drop-out in order to be successful?
                           or
    Do every drop-out is Successful?

According to a recent survey,
"Just 0.00001% of drop-outs are successful"

Now that's a pretty few number...
The reason behind such a few numbers is:
When someone drops out, he usually does either of these two
         i) Start chasing his dream seriously
ii) Stop dreaming & just live life as it comes.

The story doesn't end here...
Around 97%  of the option-i people Quit due to difficulties. Those who overcome their problems are SUCCESSFUL.

They Say,"We love to fail, because that is the reason for what I'm today"

AND the CORRUPTION continues......

My eyes opened as I found my-self comfortable in the side-upper berth where I laid last night. I was travelling from Bhubaneswar to Rajgangpur by Utkal Express. The train was over-crowded. Only an hour left to complete my journey, I thought of coming down to fresh myself up before I reach. Just on the lower berth I found the T.T.E. (Train Ticket Examiner) sleeping. It wasn't an usual site as they are provided with separate personal seats. After a few minutes, the T.T.E. woke up and walked to the nearest  compartment. I thought of Following him.

What happened next was beyond my expectation. A normal passenger was sleeping in the T.T.E. seat, when he went to him and asked for money. I was confused.

Surveying into the matter I came to know that the T.T.E. gave his seat to someone for र500 and he himself was sleeping in a vacant seat, without thinking about other people, who were even wanting a seat to just sit and cover the journey.

Guyz, Its not the end of the story, After a few minuites, enters an R.P.F (Railway Protection Force) & wakes up the T.T.E.. The TTE then counts some money and gives away almost half of the money. I guess it would be around र2000.

It was around half of the money they both earned last night, by CORRUPTION.....

SUCCESS

What is Success? “It has never been MINE”
In this different ways, people do DEFINE…
Some see Success as money to their NAME,
Or as end of reaching the FAME…

“Success is never temporary”, I heard someone Say,
Coz if it isn’t Permanent, You’re still not at the Bay…
Set your dreams printed in your Heart,
Follow your actions to achieve That…
Always choose the toughest Path,
With those difficulties, You’ll have a grooming Bath…

Stick to HOPE like BEES on FLOWER,
And talk of it, in life’s every HOUR…
For, this dear friend is the greatest POWER,
That lets You reach the Success TOWER…
Remember one thing dear, always TRY,
To wipe tears that stays in Your EYE…

Success lies in being Happy, after losing the GAME,
Success lies in giving Credit & taking up the BLAME…
Success lies in enjoying the JOURNEY,
Not in reaching the Hall of FAME…

A LESSON FOR HUMANISM

It was a long waiting hall, & my Dad handed me his clothes after changing into the operation gown. Dad was about to enter the OT for his Cataract Surgery at L.V. Prasad Eye Institute.
In the waiting area were people of all ages. Some were patients waiting for their surgery, some were patients who waited for the green flag to go back home after surgery and the rest were attendants. In between all these my eyes were drawn to 2 little kids who were innocently doing their usual kiddy activities. From their outfit & appearance I could easily guess that they belonged to the Below Poverty Line. The sorrow & grief in their parents eyes, showed their pathetic condition.
Of the 2 kids, there was a girl (about 6 years) whose face showed clear innocence like any other child, but she was blind on one eye. Due to her blindness she felt like an alien in the midst of normal people. The way she tried to look minutely at tiny things showed that she has been trying to concentrate very very hard to see things around her. Having a talk with her parents I came to know that they are very very poor to afford a surgery for their child's eye. My mind got shattered when I started thinking how lucky we are but still we complain of not getting several things. These parents have been waiting for 4 long years constantly saving penny by penny to give colors to their child's eye.
I again looked at the girl and thanked God for making me so special. While returning back after my Dad's surgery, I asked the receptionist about the fees that those poor people had to spend for the surgery?
I was really happy to hear the answer
he said."Sir, its free of cost"..
I thought, "Thank you God for still keeping Humanism in this world"...
